Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1 – Using the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, cut the Grove Die out of the Basic Black cardstock.
Step 2 – Lay the Kraft Gift Box flat and use the Vellum as tracing paper and trace the center of the gift box. (The window portion.)
Step 3 – Lay the traced image on the piece of Basic Black for the Mask and go over the traced lines (in the center of the black) hard enough to create an indentation on the Basic Black.
Step 4 – Using a sharp blade (like a box cutter), cut out the shape of the traced image.
Step 5 – Make sure your mask is cut the same as the window portion of the gift box. Trim as needed to make it match.
Step 6 – Adhere the Mask to the top of the Kraft Gift Box. (The goal of the mask is to ensure no “kraft” box is showing through the Grove Die Cut.
Step 7 – Adhere the Grove Die Cut to the top of the Kraft Gift Box, over the top of the Mask.
Step 8 – Using your Scary Silhouettes Dies, cut the haunted house and bats from the scrap of Basic Black cardstock and cut the crescent moon from the Mango Melody cardstock.
Step 9 – Adhere the Haunted House under the edge of the Grove die cut with a little liquid adhesive at the bottom edge so it’s not glued to the window.)
Step 10 – Using Glue Dots, adhere the bats and moon to the Treat Box window.
Step 11 – Fold and glue the Treat Box together. (NOTE: Glue all 4 edges of the TOP portion so that it fits OVER the bottom sides. This will ensure the sides are tucked nicely inside.)
Step 12 – Using the Versamark, ink up the letters ‘b’ and ‘o’ and stamp b o o on the scrap piece of Basic Black cardstock, cover with white embossing power, shaking off excess, and heat emboss. (If you are new to heat embossing, a couple of tricks are to use a very small clean paint brush to brush off any excess embossing powder that sticks where it shouldn’t and also to hold the paper with the tweezers while heat embossing so you don’t burn your fingers. The heat tool gets very hot. When embossing, hold the heat tool an inch or two away from the paper and move it around so you don’t burn the paper.)
Step 13 – After embossing the letters, cut the out using the Best Label Punch.
Step 14 – Arrange the letters on the small strip of Basic White cardstock, making sure the ends are covered, and glue them down with liquid adhesive to the white strip.
Step 15 – Once the glue sets, adhere the entire sentiment to the front of the box using Dimensionals on the back.
Step 16 – Cut about 50″ of the Black & White Gingham Ribbon. Color it orange with the Pumpkin Stampin’ Blend – Dark.
Step 17 – Wrap the ribbon around the box a few times and tie in a bow on the front. (You want this to be able to be untied so the recipient doesn’t have to cut it to get into the Treat Box.)
